Do we like Miley?

ANSWER: NO.

So, in school, a lot of people have been talking about Miley Cyrus on the cover of the April 2010 issue of Teen Vogue. There were no mixed opinions- pretty much everyone thinks she isn't looking her best here. I would have to agree with them. I mean, her hair looks like my bed sheets (except they're not brown and boring like her hair), and the middle part isn't working for her. Her make-up isn't bad, therefore her face looks decent. But, I'm just going to point something out... WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT DRESS? I do not want to know. It is boring and doesn't draw my attention. I'm more into colorful prints now a days, if I styled this cover I would've put this chick in an Erdem or Thakoon dress. Last time I checked, red-orange wasn't exactly a color that's in style...

Is Teen Vogue ACTUALLY Folding?

There has been a lot of talk about the beloved fashion magazine, Teen Vogue, folding. But is it really?! My sources say NO. All we can do is hope, though :)

Gemma Ward: Fat or Normal?

Supermodel Gemma Ward has recently gained a lot of weight. She says she is quitting the modeling business, but is she for real? Ward gained a noticeable amount of weight, and Karl Lagerfeld was nice enough to still put her in the Chanel fashion show in Paris, but now she is facing a lot more pressure. Ward said that she cannot take the pressure to lose weight anymore, especially now that she has to lose 15+ pounds to get back in the business. Will she return, or is she gone for good?

Lady Gaga has not only influenced the fashion industry, but she has also managed to sneak her way onto the cover of some of the world's most famous fashion magazines. You are probably thinking to yourself, "how?!" Well, the answer is pretty simple. Lady Gaga's wacky style has played a huge role in her recent burst of fame. She knows that now a days, to be famous you cannot just be talented, you must be UNIQUE. And this is why she has been a huge figure in the fashion industry lately. Because she is unique. Being unique is one of the biggest pieces of advice I can give you if you desire to work on the fashion industry when you grow up.

She is right. Fashion is everywhere. When you walk down the street, everyone is dressed (let's hope). Everyone has their own clothes, fashionable or not, which they wear and like. Clothes are a part of us, and whether we like it or not, they symbolize who we are. Everyone, in their own way, contributes and is a part of the fashion world. Why? Well, let's see. People wear what they like, companies notice this and make clothes that they think will appeal to the public, the public either purchases the clothes or not, and this influences whether the clothes appear in the fashion magazines, which influences if and where the clothes appear in advertising campaigns. We are all part of fashion, so if you feel excluded from our little industry, think again. The industry isn't so little.

What is fashion?

I finally made the blog that I told you all I would make. And as I sit in my room, at 12:00 AM on a tuesday night, I begin to actually think; "what IS fashion?" To me, fashion is really just an imaginary world created by people based on clothing. Fashion is something that you can make into whatever you want it to be, by dressing however you want to dress. Powerful people in the fashion industry intend to influence you to believe that it is only acceptable to dress a certain way in certain labels at a certain time of year, but why? It's simple; people believe that they are great, so others will think they are great as well, look up to them and do as they say. These fashionable people are simply influencing everyone. And that is why the most powerful people in the fashion industry are where they are today.
